Light + Building is the international meeting place for manufacturers from the lighting, electrical engineering, home and building automation and connected security technology sectors. The most important visitor groups include architects, interior architects, designers, planners and engineers as well as craftsmen, trade and industry.
As the world's biggest trade fair for lighting and building technology, Light + Building presents solutions that reduce a building's energy consumption and at the same time increase comfort. From LED technology and charging management for electromobility to intelligent use of electricity with smart metering and smart grids, everything is represented. By combining lighting and networked building technology, the industry is presenting an integrated range of products that makes a decisive contribution to increasing the economic efficiency of buildings, achieving defined climate targets and at the same time increasing the comfort and safety needs of users.
Light + Building product segments
Light + Building is a unique international stage for the lighting market in terms of breadth and depth. The entire spectrum of exhibitors in Halls 3.0 and 3.1 includes design luminaires in all styles, technical luminaires and lamps in different variations and for all applications. In Hall 4.0, the focus is on outdoor and street lighting. Technical luminaires, emergency lighting and safety lighting continue one floor higher in Hall 4.1. Decorative luminaires and full ranges can be seen in Hall 6.0. In Hall 8.0, there is a large selection of technical lighting components, light sources and lighting control. Together with the electrical engineering and home and building automation segments, the subject of lighting receives new, exciting impulses.
Home and building automation, electrotechnology
Building automation plays an important role through the bundling of all technical trades: the increasing networking and digitalisation of electrotechnical installations increase the quality of work and living. At Light + Building, the industry will be showing solutions and technologies that are aimed at low energy consumption and modern safety requirements as well as individual design options and a high level of comfort. Electrical engineering, with its central cross-sectional technologies geared to holistic solutions, has a central function here.
Trade visitors will find the range of products and services for energy-efficient building-system solutions and electrical installations in Halls 12.0 and 12.1, while design-oriented electrical installations will also be on show in Hall 11.1. Hall 11.0 presents electrical installation and network technology. The two Halls 11 and 12 - just like Halls 9.0 - also have home and building automation in common. In Hall 9.0, the focus will also be on electrical engineering. In 2022, the international Intersec Building platform in Hall 8.0 will be devoted to the subject of connected security. Meanwhile, Young Competence in Hall 9.1 is the place to go for those hungry for education. There will also be a workshop street for young people.
Intersec Building: Connected security technology
Connected security is an integral part of the Smart Home and Smart Building. As a result, Light + Building bundles the range of products and services on this subject with the Intersec Building section in Hall 8.0, where the topics of video technology and access control are just as present as data and fire protection. In the immediate vicinity, the Intersec Forum, a trade conference for networked security technology, will enrich the product range with an exciting congress programme from 3 to 6 October 2022.
